On Wednesday, November 12, our school honored veterans from our community. Above are those brave men and women who came out to share the day with us. Our event consisted of a slideshow presentation of AES students and members of their family who were in the military. Grades K and 1 participated in a coloring contest while grades 2-4 wrote some beautiful essays. The day ended with a video "Bring him home Santa". There were not many dry eyes left in the building. Ashville races for the cure!
On October 11, more than 20 of our faculty and students ran or walked in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Including our registration fees, our group donated $1,021.00 to the cause. This was my first year to participate in the event, but the experience is one I will never forget and want to continue each year. We are encouraging all Ashville Bulldogs to join us next year!
